Gurudwara Darshan in Amritsar

Day 1: Arrive Amritsar

Arrive Amritsar

Golden Temple: Reach the Amritsar Airport/Railway Station. Meet and greet with our representative upon arrival, and they will transport you to the hotel. With the blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib, your city tour will begin after Fresh upStart. Named after Hari (God), the Golden Temple in Amritsar is the holiest site in the Sikh religion. In the sixteenth century, Guru Arjan, the fifth Sikh guru, constructed it. The sacred book of Sikhism, the Adi Granth, was finished by Guru Arjan in 1604. Entering the Harmandir Sahib through one of its four doorways represents the Sikhs' acceptance of all people and faiths. The Sarovar, a sizable lake or holy tank filled with Amrit (holy water), encircles the Gurdwara. The five hundred-year history of the Sikh people is embodied in Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Gurudwara Shri Atal Ji Sahib: Next, go to the Gurdwara Baba Atal: The District City of Amritsar is home to the Gurudwara Shri Atal Ji Sahib. The location of it is behind Gurudwara Shri Harimandir Sahib. Born in Amritsar on October 23, 1619, Baba Atal Rai was the son of Guru Hargobind, the sixth Guru of the Sikhs. A little Atal Rai playmate once perished after being bitten by a snake. Upon witnessing the boy's relatives sobbing over his corpse, Atal Rai revived his companion. Guru Hargobind chastised his son, asking, "How can anyone interfere with the ways of God?" after learning of the miracle. Hearing his father scolded him upset Baba Atal Rai so much that he pulled away to the edge of the Kaulsar pool, prayed, lay down, and surrendered his life in exchange for the life he had rescued. Following that, Baba Atal had a temple built in his honour by Guru Hargobind Ji. It is named "Baba Atal" and is nine stories high. It remains unchanged to this day. Happy are those saints who, having become one with the Naam, graciously comprehend and embrace God's Will.

Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib: Next, go to the Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib. Situated next to Chativind Gate, on the bank of Ramsar sarovar, is the Gurudwara Ramsar. Situated in the smallest of the five Sarovars in the holy city of Amritsar, Ramsar Sarovar is home to the Ramsar Gurdwara. It was erected in 1855 on the location of the old shrine, where Guru Arjun Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru, selected this location for the Guru Granth Sahib's creation long before the current Gurdwara was created. Dev was searching for a peaceful area away from the expanding city of Amritsar. The fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjun Dev, and his scribe, Bhai Gurdas, lived in semi-seclusion for more than a year in 1603, finishing the sacred Sikh scripture known as the Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

Gurudwara Manji Sahib: Next, make a visit to Gurudwara Manji Sahib. Amritsar is home to Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib. It marks the spot where Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji penned Sukhmani Sahib, sitting under a ber tree on the bank of Ramsar Sarovar, on the Tarn Taran route, Chattiwind gate. The Gurudwara Sri Ramsar Sahib is next door to this hallowed location.

Gurudwara Baba Deep Singh Ji (shaheed Sahib): Next, go to Gurudwara Shaheed Sahib, or Baba Deep Singh Ji: Shahid Amritsar's Baba Deep Singh Gurudwara Here, Baba Deep Singh, the renowned Sikh philosopher and martyr, suffered a fatal wound. Among the 12 misls, Baba Deep Singh ji led the well-known "Shaheedan Di Misl." Baba ji was the "head granthi" (head priest) of Damdama Sahib in Bathinda when Guru Gobind Singh arrived. Baba ji was also in charge of distributing the Guru Granth Sahib to different regions of the world. He fought against Jahan Khan's Muslim army alongside 5,000 devoted Sikhs. It honours Baba Deep Singh ji's unparalleled martyrdom, as he bravely and fearlessly battled alongside thousands of Sikhs to free the Golden Temple from the filthy grasp of Afghani invaders in 1757. Go back to the Amritsar Hotel and spend the night there.

Day 2: Amritsar Gurudwara in and Around

Amritsar Gurudwara in and Around

Gurudwara Shri Cheharta Sahib: Visit the Gurdwara Chheharta Sahib after breakfast. Gurudwara The village of Guru Ki Wadali is close to the shrine of Shri Cheharta Sahib in Amritsar City. The Sixth Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, son of Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, was born in Guru ki Wadali. Here, Guru Arjan Dev Ji dug a large well to commemorate the birth of his son. The name Chheharta, or the well with six wheels, originated from the fact that this well used six Persian wheels to extract water. This well made it possible for the fields to get greener and assisted the area's water shortage to be resolved. Here is the well that still has its Persian wheels.

Gurudwara San Sahib: Then visit Gurudwara San Sahib. Amritsar is home to Gurudwara Shri San Sahib. Guru Angad Dev Ji appointed Guru Amar Das Ji as the new GURU.After returning from Goindwal, which he had been asked to leave by Datu, the son of Guru Angad Dev Ji, who was upset that his father had not called him the Guru, Guru Amar Das, the third Sikh Guru, remained here.

In Basarke, the Guru isolated himself in this small hut. The door was marked with a warning not to open it; if someone attempted to do so, they would no longer be considered his guru or fellow Sikh. A group of followers, led by Baba Buddha Ji, a follower of Guru Amar Das Ji, bored a hole in the wall and begged the guru to come back. Finally, Guru Amar Das Ji and the Sikhs made their way back. Within the Gurudwara Sahib, the wall hole is still intact today.

Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib: Next, go to the Gurdwara Baba Budha Ji: Baba Budha Ji spent a large portion of his life at Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib, sometimes referred to as Bir Sahib (1506 - 1631). In Sikhism, Baba Buddha is a special figurehead. He conducted the anointing process for the second through sixth Sikh Gurus personally and was a contemporary of the first six. As the first Granthi (priest of the Golden Temple) in 1604 AD, Baba Buddha finished the Adi Granth's first route, or perusing, in that role.

Gurdwara Tarn Taran Sahib: Next, visit Gurdwara Tarn Taran Sahib: The sixth guru, guru Arjan Dev, founded the Sri Tarn Taran Sahib gurdwara in Tarn Taran Sahib, Punjab, India.
